Faded Flower

For the collective exhibition “FADED” Natalie Pätzold created a new set of four still life images, which builds on this theme quite literally. By taking digital colour images of faded cut flowers in a low natural light setting, she explores the fading of the symbolic ancient meanings associated with flowers. For the series she uses some common and popular cut flowers that can be found in most local florists or supermarkets such as gerbera and carnations. This is to underline that the flowers many people have in their homes may be viewed in a different light if the meaning behind them would be known.
